For funders

Fund what outlasts the grant.

ResilientSA trains young people from the communities we serve to build mutual-aid networks that keep working when the funding stops, and when the next crisis lands.

The problem, plainly.

When the economy cracks, or the water stops, or the power goes, the people with the least get hit first. We don't know which shock is next. We do know who it lands on.

South Africa has already had its rehearsals: the Cape Town water crisis, lockdown, July 2021, the KZN floods, years of load shedding. Each time, the poorest neighbourhoods carried the most. Resilience can't be built in the middle of a crisis.

What we do.

The platform.

A mutual-aid app anchored to a community's own Resident Association or CPF, organised around six things that fail first: water, food, health, safety, energy, and skills and trade.

The programme.

Two training tracks for young people in those communities: visual storytelling and innovation workshops. They run the work themselves.

What funding would do.

Fund a first cohort: training for young people in Delft, and getting the platform ready for its first real community. A budget, line by line, on request.

Where we are. Honestly.

We're new. The NPC is being registered. No PBO or Section 18A status yet, no audited accounts, no impact numbers, no track record. What we do have: a platform that works in testing, a proven facilitation method, and a plan for a first cohort. Fund us early and you help shape it.

How we're governed and paid.

The board is in formation. We'll name directors here once they've said yes.

The founders draw ordinary salaries from the organisation. No surplus is paid to anyone, and everything earned goes back into the work.

The facilitation method behind one of our tracks was developed by Deon through a company he founded. ResilientSA will pay that company a licence fee. Every arrangement between the organisation and its founders will be disclosed here.

Start a conversation.

Tell us what you fund and what you'd want to see. We'll tell you straight whether it fits.
